BOUNDARIES

... Do You Have 'em ...

Have you ever been caught up in the whirlwind of steadily compromising the un-compromisable? Do you ever find yourself resetting your standards/ morals to fit one of another, reaching further and further from its original starting point, uncomfortably and nonsensically?

Your Agree-ability can become the absolute death of you. It can. You should never have to negotiate your comforts to perfectly align with the comforts of another. Within every relationship, of any kind, you have to be able to reach a respectful happy-medium. So if you find yourself in anything, with anyone, constantly giving an inch for someone to take a mile or feel and recognize that your juggling more discomforts or accepting the simply unacceptable...there is something seriously wrong and you ought to be finding an EXIT.

Becoming to agreeable would definitely attract those who seek to do nothing but take advantage of that. All they would need is an IN, to what you would be presented that INvitation (in one manner or another). Your responsibility to yourself is to Reassess a few things. Reassess where you stand. Reassess your true feelings about a person or a situation. Reassess and figure out if this suits your comforts and what you would feel comfortable negotiating, and why. Does it make sense? Are all parties to be sharing in the benefit, moving forth? etc... You may find yourself spending a lifetime getting lost in the every need of everyone in your surroundings and realizing that you failed to reassess your standings with much of them. Don't leave yourself open to a cycle of depletion and discard. It's truly, just that, an endless cycle. To be performed (yes performed) again and again. A destructive type of conditioning. Get real clear on your requirements and your standing with anyone you choose to have any bit of interaction with and in anything you choose to be involved in, and be very fair in hearing the requirements of another, as well. This is all helpful in lessening the opportunities for misuse and confusion, save the time and just be clear, as clear as you can, as early as you can.

BOUNDARIES. It's Healthy to have them. It's Healthy to respect those of another. It's Healthy to want to elude harm and not be harmful to another. You should seek to be involved in what is Respectful, Reasonable, and Responsible, where everyone involved can comfortably adhere to what is set forth and have the opportunity to not be apart of it anything to what you cannot comply. If all can, you are well on your way to healthy interactions, thereafter.

As we are going along the week of figuring out our Boundaries and comfortable standings, please take the time to ask yourself, "How Are You?"
